Opportunities |
Sports VolunteerSports volunteers help coaches and share their expertise in a favorite sport. LA’s BEST kids play practically everything at some point during the year. Volunteer MentorMentors offer support, friendship, and a constructive example to individual students. A mentor’s guidance and encouragement helps children explore their special talents and navigate their life decisions. Program VolunteersDaily program volunteers participate during the program hours between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, as homework helpers or activity assistants. Fundraising and Special Events VolunteersVolunteers help us organize fundraising events, connect us to new donors and build valuable partnerships. Special events volunteers join in at various citywide events on weekends. |

How you help | Volunteers play a critical role at LA’s BEST. You offer children additional positive role models and connection with another caring adult. |

About us | For nearly 30 years, LA’s BEST has provided safe, supervised afterschool enrichment for elementary school students in neighborhoods with the highest needs and fewest resources. Through our deliberately developed programming and staff, we build the kind of deep intellectual, creative, physical and social engagement in children that drives their development as motivated learners and active contributors to their education, schools and communities. This is reflected in concrete measures such as school attendance and graduation rates, and in equally critical measures of self-confidence, curiosity and wonder, and enhanced senses of purpose, drive and self-worth. |
