Create Word documents and Excel spreadsheets using Microsoft Office Volunteer Caseworker: Military And Veterans Program Critical Community ServicesSAF: Service to the Armed Forces – Hero Care Regional Caseworker/Critical Community Services When a Veteran is experiencing hardship, they can call our Hero Care Network and open a critical community services case. The case will then be dispatched to the local region where a critical community services casework volunteer will interview the Veteran to acquire as much information as needed to best ensure appropriate referrals can be made and follow up with the Veteran periodically to check in on referrals and developing needs. Volunteers will have access to a resource database to better provide vetted referrals. Blood Delivery Driver Volunteer (Vehicle Provided) - PomonaAs a Transportation Specialist (blood delivery driver), you will be part of a team of heroes that greatly contribute to the Red Cross’ life saving mission, through the delivery of blood and blood products to area hospitals! You will be required to fill out an online registration form and take a brief training that will prepare you for the position. The training is a two-part process, with the first part being an overview of defensive driving skills and the second a first run through of what a day in the life of a volunteer TS specialist is like. A team member will accompany you as you make a few deliveries and learn the ins and outs of the program. Qualifications & Training:

Safe, responsible motorists with strong customer service skills are needed to help ensure that patients can continue their fight against life-threatening illnesses. Local round-trip delivery routes operate out of Pomona and Culver City 7 days a week. Kitting AssistantBuild the blood drive before it happens! Kitting Assistants organize supplies and pack boxes for shipment to blood drives and donor centers. Your help is needed to assemble totes and ensure adequate supplies are available and ready to depart warehouse areas to keep our blood drives running. Please note that this position is only available at the Pomona blood services location. Disaster Preparedness VolunteerThere are many opportunities to assist with disaster preparedness and response. Educate local residents by hosting Red Cross information booths and preparedness presentations in the community, join the Disaster Action Team and be the first line of responders for people affected by disaster in your local community, or assist with a variety of admin and logistics tasks at the office and warehouse. |
