Class InstructorEnjoy teaching? We’d enjoy hearing from you! We’re always in need of enthusiastic teachers for our life-skills classes, financial education classes and small group Bible studies. Career Employment ServicesTeach a career workshop. Or work with individual Mission residents on financial planning, writing résumés, holding mock job interviews and more. Music/ArtsIf you’re musically or artistically inclined, ask our Volunteer Program Supervisor about Mission events and workshops that would benefit from your talents! Chapel ServiceBring a group from your church to lead the evening chapel service at our Samaritan House. Administrative OfficeHelp out with filing, answering phones and other clerical duties. Holiday and Special EventsGet involved with our Easter Basket Giveaway, Long Beach Marathon Fundraiser, Back-to-School Drive, Gala & Silent Auction Fundraiser, Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Toy & Stocking Giveaway and other events. MentoringEncourage and guide our New Life Program participants as they make their courageous journey back into becoming productive members of society. Lydia HouseServe at our women and children’s shelter through after school programs, Bible studies, dinner service and more. Legal AidUse your knowledge of the law in one of our legal aid clinics, advising Mission clients on matters such as traffic tickets, record expungement, and child support. Thrift StoreAssist customers, sort donations and help tidy the store. We especially need volunteers with an in-depth knowledge of online sales and product/inventory pricing. Food ServicePitch in to assist our kitchen staff as they set up, serve and clean up after our breakfast, lunch, or dinner meals. |

Everyday NeedsPlease drop off these donations Monday-Sunday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Samaritan House*: 1335 Pacific Ave., Long Beach, CA 90813 -OR- At our Thrift Store: 702 W. Anaheim St, Long Beach, CA 90813 *As of March 1st 2020, Samaritan House will only be accepting donations of food and hygiene items.
