Our mission

To encourage understanding of and respect for science and scientists by all high school graduates through starting or improving science education in the early grades.
Opportunities

Help Teach Integrated Science Workshops to Kids

Science is Elemental runs integrated science workshops. We want kids to have fun doing what they love to do such as art. music and sports, while learning some science. SIE’s goal is to reach those kids that don’t yet know that they like science.

While we are thrilled to have high school students helping out, and welcome their participation, many of our workshops occur during the school day, when they are not available.

SIE is seeking professionals with some time during the day. Retirees or near-retirees would be fantastic, particularly those with a science or engineering background.

The workshops will occur the week of August 4-8 at Sola Foundation, the Beehive, in Los Angeles.

How you help

Thank you so much for volunteering to support teachers as they provide students with the best possible education,  and joy of learning science.

  • Provide integrated science workshops to show kids the science in the activities they love, i.e., soccer workshops with science added
  • Support elementary school teachers with free service to answer science and science teaching questions
  • Write children’s books showing what scientists do
About us

Founded in 2022/received 501c3 status in 2023, We work particularly with those kids who do not (yet!) show interest or aptitude in the sciences. We support teachers and young/elementary school kids.
