We are people in pursuit of health equity because your health matters.

Opportunities

Core Volunteer

Health Matters Clinic is seeking dedicated Core Volunteers to join our team for upcoming Take Action HMC events this May. As part of the annual Take Action LA campaign—a Mental Health Awareness Month initiative led by the LA Department of Mental Health—you will help us create spaces for wellness, resource-sharing, and community healing.

Key Event Dates

Attendance is required for both dates:

  • Take Action Unstoppable Wellness 5K: May 9 | 7:45 AM – 10:00 AM
  • Take Action Unstoppable Wellness Meetup: May 20 | 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

The Role

You will work directly with our Executive Director and General Operations Coordinator and serve as the primary support behind our event logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weekly Syncs: Meet with the team to receive assignments and provide progress updates.
  • Plan Execution: Support the rollout of our Implementation and Marketing plans by completing designated weekly tasks.
  • On-Site Operations: Provide on-site support to ensure both event days run smoothly.
  • Ongoing Partnership: While the immediate focus is on May, we welcome volunteers interested in supporting our mission long-term.

What You Bring

  • A People-First Attitude: Excellent communication skills and a passion for helping and healing.
  • Reliability: Ability to commit 3–6 hours per week leading up to the events and attend both dates.
  • Organization: Comfort managing multiple tasks and familiarity with basic tools like email and spreadsheets (training provided).

Why join us?

By joining our core team, you’ll play a tangible role in supporting mental health awareness across Los Angeles. This is an ideal opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community organizing and event execution while working alongside a passionate team dedicated to helping and healing.
