Summer Volunteer Opportunity

Join Girls Inc. of Los Angeles this summer at the Boys and Girls Club!

Help girls build leadership skills, make new friends, and enjoy a safe environment packed with fun. A summer commitment will require volunteering once or twice a week. To sign up! Complete a Girls Inc. application.

Requirements: Applicants will be required to complete a Live Scan background check to be formally accepted to volunteer. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

Summer program begins: June 16th through July 30th, a six-week commitment. Programs are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Classroom Volunteer

Join Girls Inc. of Los Angeles as a classroom volunteer!

Bring your boldest self to empower girls to discover their inherent strengths and mentor girls on making informed decisions while having fun.

In-class volunteers support instructors with weekly activities in our classrooms once or twice a week between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm, 2 to 3 hours a day. Girls Inc. proudly serves girls in twelve LAUSD schools located in the South and West Los Angeles area.

Volunteers will be required to complete LAUSD and Girls Inc. requirements as follows:

  • Complete a volunteer application.
  • Attend a Zoom volunteer meeting to learn about Girls Inc. programs and the volunteer role.
  • A Livescan background screening. (fee covered by applicant)
  • A TB test with submission of a negative result. (fee covered by applicant)
  • Complete an approved LAUSD online volunteer-mandated reporter training.

About us

In partnership with schools and at Girls Inc. centers, we focus on the development of the whole girl. She learns to value herself, take risks, and discover and develop her inherent strengths. The combination of long-lasting mentoring relationships, a pro-girl environment, and evidence-based programming equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers, and grow up healthy, educated, and independent. Informed by girls and their families, we also advocate for legislation and policies to increase opportunities and rights for all girls.
