Our mission

This Summer, the City will host more than 100 ‘Kick It In the Park’ watch parties across neighborhoods, featuring live World Cup match screenings, youth soccer clinics, and family-friendly programming.

Kick It In the Park Volunteer

A part of the Kick It In the Park program, the City is piloting a volunteer program at select sites from June 11 to July 19. We’re looking for local volunteers to help greet attendees, provide wayfinding, and support activities — you can sign up for just one shift or more. 🗓 Sign Up Deadline: Please sign up by June 10
📍 Locations: Volunteer pilot sites include Echo Park Lake, Whitsett Sports Complex, Westwood Park, Cheviot Hills Park, and Jackie Tatum Harvard Park

Volunteer Dates: Each park will be activated on a different date during the World Cup tournament from June 11 to July 19. Check out our website for exact dates!

How you help

Kick It In the Park volunteers will:

  • Support activities and fan engagement
  • Assist with event set-up and breakdown
  • Help create a positive, inclusive experience for all

By joining, you’ll:

  • Bring the spirit of the World Cup to neighborhoods across LA 
  • Connect with fellow Angelenos who are committed to their communities
  • Help the City of LA pilot a ‘Major Events Volunteer Force’ ahead of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games
  • Receive an exclusive ‘Kick It In the Park’ volunteer shirt and swag
About us

Kick It In the Park, a partnership between the Office of Mayor Karen Bass, Los Angeles Council Districts, and Los Angeles Recreation and Parks, ensures the World Cup reaches every corner of the city.

As the City prepares for these celebrations, we are launching a volunteer pilot at 5 select sites to help test and refine the volunteer program ahead of future large-scale events: Echo Park Lake, Cheviot Hills, Westwood, Jackie Tatum Harvard Park, and Whitsett Fields.
