HFC’s Exchange coordinates the handling of food and personal donations from donors to get them in the hands of those in need. Drivers collect the goods, and coordinators distribute them to local organizations such as My Friend’s Place, The Center, SELAH, and Village Family Services. We are pioneering a new model of food sharing through our operational structure, which ensures food stays fresh and organizations are given exactly what they need. This large undertaking has been supported by HFC’s volunteers and staff as it continues to grow exponentially in scope, with staff in part made possible by a donation from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The Exchange provides fresh, nutritious food and needed personal care items to people who otherwise don’t have access to them, thus reducing food waste while lessening the harsh impacts of food deserts and food scarcity.Accepting canned goods, veggies, fruit, prepared food, eggs, face masks, hygiene supplies & cleaning supplies.
