Ways to help

Have a car?

We are always in need of people to help us transport our dogs to and from weekly adoptions, to the vet, to doggie daycare, and on any other excursions that might arise. We also need help dropping off food and medicine to fosters who don’t have cars.

Simply being available for us to call on you whenever we need assistance is also a great way to lend a hand. Become a volunteer for Ace of Hearts and help us continue to save and improve the lives of our amazing furry friends.

Foster a dog, save a life!

One of the best ways you can help Ace of Hearts is volunteering to foster a dog. For each new foster home that opens up, we are able to save the life of another shelter dog on death row. Opening your heart and home to a dog in need can bring you joy and the satisfaction that comes from knowing you've made a difference in an animal's life. Simply put, fostering saves lives! You provide the love and attention; we provide everything else! We provide you with food, treats, a bed, and any veterinary care the dog may need. (You call us to arrange.)

Like the outdoors? Walk Dogs

Some of our dogs need more exercise than they are currently getting and need a friend to take them on walks and hikes.

How you help Ace of Hearts could not survive without the invaluable support of its volunteers. Even if you are unable to adopt or foster a dog, don’t fret! There are plenty of ways to turn your passion for animals into much-needed assistance.
About us We are a 501c-3 dog rescue foundation dedicated to rescuing dogs, the day they are to be euthanized, from various Los Angeles shelters and placing them in loving homes. In the greater Los Angeles County shelters alone an average of 475 pets are euthanized daily. There just aren't enough homes for them all. Our goal is to help provide animals a second chance to a happy life and to help reduce pet overpopulation. We save dogs in need and provide them with care and foster homes while they await adoption. We do NOT take dogs in ... we rescue only from shelters.
