America SCORES LA uses soccer, poetry, and service to inspire urban youth to lead healthy lives, be engaged students, and have the confidence and character to make a difference in the world.
Volunteer Coaches are expected to commit to a weekly engagement over a 10 week season in the fall and/or spring. Volunteers must be free for at least 2 hours on weekdays between 2:30 and 4:30PM.

Regular office administration and communications support is needed. Sorting donated supplies, inputting data into computer, updating website, etc. Opportunities throughout the year are available during normal office hours (9:00AM – 5:00PM).

Referees are needed for regular volunteer opportunities for Friday GameDays over a 10-week fall or spring season. Friday Game Days require a weekly 2-hour commitment between 3:00PM and 5:00PM.

About us
ASLA was founded to address the need for quality after-school programs in the Palms area, one of Los Angeles’ socio-economically under-resourced communities. ASLA provides a safe after-school alternative in an area where youth centers, libraries and parks are noticeably absent. Our overall goal is to cultivate the literacy and leadership skills that enable urban youth to excel in school and in life.
