Ways to help

Transport Volunteer

We are regularly in desperate need for someone to transport dogs for us. Sometimes we hear of a dog in a shelter who needs urgent medical attention, and we might have funds and even a foster home ready, but none of us can get there to pick the dog up and take them to the vet. If you're happy to be contacted about transport needs and other occasional volunteer opportunities, please sign up to our volunteer mailing list.

Foster

At Blue Man Dog, we pride ourselves on providing a supportive and well-managed foster program. We work very closely with out fosters and provide all the supplies and training they need to set the dogs up for successful transition from shelter to adoption. You won’t be lumped with a dog and left to figure it out - to the contrary. We will: select a foster dog that suits your lifestyle and experience; give you very precise, step-by-step instructions for this dog; provide you with training sessions to teach you how to better understand; dog behavior, communication, and become a better dog handler; we will also be with you through the process of vetting adopters and we will handle finalizing the adoption.

How you help Whether you are a first time dog-carer or have tons of experience, if you would like to get into fostering, our supportive program could be for you.
About us We are a volunteer based dog rescue in Los Angeles, committed to making more adoptions a long-term success by carefully matching dogs to adopters and supporting adopters and their dogs through the transition and beyond. We rescue the dogs most in need of our experienced training team - those with behavior issues - as well as dogs with medical issues, seniors, and any that capture our hearts. With over a decade of working with rescue dogs, our core team members offer private training sessions, and we share our knowledge and experience with our fosters, volunteers, and adopters, which is what makes us such a strong team and our adoption rate so successful. As our group becomes more established, the goal is to save more dogs, train more foster homes, and expand our training and support programs to instruct young children in the responsibility, needs and care of dogs.
