Our mission	To encourage safe, vibrant public spaces, sustainable transportation and public health through a program of car-free street events.

Opportunities	Support Open Streets at CicLAvia -- South LA (Western Avenue)! CicLAvia – South LA (Western Ave) is taking place on Sunday, 6/23/24 and we are looking for volunteers at our Hubs! CicLAvia is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that catalyzes vibrant public spaces, active transportation, and good health through car-free streets. CicLAvia engages with people to transform our relationship with our communities and with each other. Our family-friendly events transform streets into safe spaces for the community to enjoy by foot, bike, and other forms of people- powered transport. Join us on Sunday, June 23rd (rain or shine!), as we transform 5 miles of Western Avenue into a public park for the day. Volunteers help create a fun and safe environment for participants! Hub Volunteers assist with activities at the hubs. These activities include: Providing information to CicLAvia participants Asking participants to dismount, slow down, or follow other traffic instructions related to hubs Assisting Hub Staff with hub setup, breakdown, and maintenance Enrolling participants in our newsletter and conducting Metro’s Open Street Participant survey One-time Teens, 55+, Adults Individuals, Groups (2-10) In Person, Outdoor On-site Weekends CicLAvia — Heart of LA CicLAvia — Heart of LA is taking place on Sunday, 10/15/23 and we are looking for volunteers at our hubs and intersections! CicLAvia creates free, family-friendly events that transform streets into safe spaces for the community to enjoy by foot, bike, and other forms of people- powered transport. Volunteers help create a fun and safe environment for participants! Join us on Sunday, October 15 (rain or shine!), as we transform the streets of Downtown Los Angeles into a public park for the day. Jog, ride, bike, skate, run, walk, skateboard, spectate, and enjoy the route however you want. Our routes are welcoming to people of all ages and abilities! Hub Volunteers assist with activities at the hubs. These activities include: Providing information to CicLAvia participants Asking participants to dismount, slow down, or follow other traffic instructions related to hubs Assisting Hub Staff with hub setup, breakdown, and maintenance Enrolling participants in our newsletter and conducting LA Metro’s Open Streets survey One-time Teens, 55+, Adults Individuals, Groups (2-10), Groups (10+), Families In Person, Outdoor None Weekends CicLAmini — North Hollywood CicLAmini—North Hollywood is taking place on Sunday, 09/17/23 and we are looking for volunteers at our hubs! CicLAvia creates free, family-friendly events that transform streets into safe spaces for the community to enjoy by foot, bike, and other forms of people- powered transport. Volunteers help create a fun and safe environment for participants! Join us on Sunday, September 17 (rain or shine!), as we transform the streets of North Hollywood into a public park for the day. Jog, ride, bike, skate, run, walk, skateboard, spectate, and enjoy the route however you want. Our routes are welcoming to people of all ages and abilities! A CicLAmini is a more pedestrian-oriented experience featuring activities sprinkled along the entire 1-2 mile open street event. Expect things like self-guided walking tours, scavenger hunts, street games, local business engagements, and art and cultural activities for all-ages. Hub Volunteers assist with activities at the hubs. These activities include: Providing information to CicLAvia participants Asking participants to dismount, slow down, or follow other traffic instructions related to hubs Assisting Hub Staff with hub setup, breakdown, and maintenance Enrolling participants in our newsletter and conducting LA Metro’s Open Streets survey One-time Teens, 55+, Adults Individuals, Groups (2-10), Groups (10+), Families In Person, Outdoor None Weekends Adopt-an-Intersection Group Volunteer The Adopt-An-Intersection Program is a great way for non-profits, community groups, school clubs, and teams (of 4 or more people) to volunteer together on the CicLAvia route.Volunteer groups will be assigned a specific intersection, and guide participant traffic at car crossings, pedestrian crossings, and dismount zones. While volunteering, groups can promote their group to the thousands of CicLAvia participants.Qualified groups are also given the opportunity to set up their own table or tent, or do something creative like hold up customized signs, play music, host an interactive activity, dress up, or dance. All activities are subject to approval and sidewalk clearance rules apply. Volunteer groups between the ages of 14 and 17 must be accompanied by an adult in a one to 15 adult to volunteer ratio. One-time Teens, 21+, 55+, Adults Groups (2-10), Groups (10+) Event support, Outdoor None, On-site Weekends Event Hub Volunteer Hub Volunteers assist with activities at the hubs. These activities include: Providing information to CicLAvia participants; Asking participants to dismount, slow down, or follow other traffic instructions related to hubs; Assisting Hub Staff with hub setup, breakdown, and maintenance; Enrolling participants in our newsletter and conducting LA Metro’s Open Streets survey. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old to participate. One-time, Occasional Teens, 55+, Adults Individuals, Groups (2-10), Groups (10+) Event support, Outdoor None, On-site Weekends

About us	CicLAvia is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that catalyzes vibrant public spaces, active transportation, and good health through car-free streets. CicLAvia engages with people to transform our relationship with our communities and with each other. Inspired by Bogotá’s weekly ciclovía, CicLAvia temporarily closes streets to car traffic and opens them to Angelenos to use as a public park. Free for all, CicLAvia connects communities to each other across an expansive city, creating a safe place to bike, walk, skate, roll, and dance through Los Angeles County.
