Ways to help

Become a Block Leader

All you need to do is speak with your neighbors and have them sign Permission to Plant Forms, where they agree to have a tree planted on the street in front of their house and they agree to water the tree during its first five years. We’ll send out one of our planting partners to site, permit, purchase, and plant trees for every neighbor who signs up. Each resident will get instructions on how to properly water and care for their new trees.

How you help In a single year we have planted over 3,000 street trees and distributed over 20,000 yard trees thanks to our partners and our amazing volunteers! City Plants is proud to serve Angelenos and honored to work day in and day out with our partners to grow a greener, healthier, and more sustainable city for future generations.
About us City Plants envisions an LA in which people in every neighborhood have equal access to trees and their benefits - energy efficiency, clean air, better health, cooling shade, and a friendlier, more vibrant neighborhood. We work with the City of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, businesses, community groups, schools, and individuals to plant trees throughout the city. Our main priorities are planting in "low canopy" neighborhoods and ensuring those communities are empowered to establish and maintain those canopies; promoting a sustainable LA by maximizing our canopy's energy efficiency, stormwater captures, energy conservation and climate adaptation benefits; creating jobs; and promoting a healthy lifestyle for LA families.
