Ways to help

Volunteer Mentor

We offer mentors the chance to share their knowledge and experience with the kids who need it the most in our community. Experience in any of the arts are welcome, even as a hobbyist. We can also help you teach simple Arts and Crafts workshops that don’t require any specific talents. For those volunteers without an artistic expertise, you can become a Life Skills Mentor, teaching financial literacy, college opportunities and job interview techniques to a group of youth. Most of our partner agencies require mentors who work with the children to be at least 21-years-old.

Strategic Projects and Marketing

There are many ways to help Create Now, such as by serving on one of our committees (Fundraising, Marketing/PR, Strategic Planning and Finance). Support is also needed for tasks like organizing our arts supplies storage room or assisting with marketing.

Special Events

Create Now sometimes needs volunteers for short-term events, like our Power of the Arts Festivals, assistance with fundraising benefits and special projects with the kids. Let us know if these opportunities are of interest and we’ll contact you when they occur.

How you help Volunteering is rewarding and helps build healthy, sustainable communities, thereby empowering individuals. We offer mentors the chance to share their knowledge and experience with the kids who need it the most in our community.
About us We focus on the most vulnerable kids who are abused, neglected, orphaned, homeless, victims of domestic violence and sex trafficking, on probation, incarcerated or experiencing other severe challenges. Although small in size, our staff taps into many resources in the community to provide quality arts programs and services. Create Now has reached more than 48,000 youth in 23 years. Every year, Create Now brings thousands of kids to concerts, plays and other cultural events at premier venues like the Hollywood Bowl, Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Grammy Museum and Cirque du Soleil.
