Our mission	Long Beach Rescue Mission is a place of healing and hope serving the greater Long Beach community by improving the quality of life of the hurting and homeless through loving and equipping them to be reconciled to God, self, family, and society.

Opportunities	Class Instructor Enjoy teaching? We’d enjoy hearing from you! We’re always in need of enthusiastic teachers for our life-skills classes, financial education classes and small group Bible studies. Occasional, Weekly 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor Formal, Skilled Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Career Employment Services Teach a career workshop. Or work with individual Mission residents on financial planning, writing résumés, holding mock job interviews and more. One-time, Occasional 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor Formal, Skilled Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Music/Arts If you’re musically or artistically inclined, ask our Volunteer Program Supervisor about Mission events and workshops that would benefit from your talents! Occasional, Weekly 55+, Adults Individuals Office work On-site, Formal Weekdays Holiday and Special Events Get involved with our Easter Basket Giveaway, Long Beach Marathon Fundraiser, Back-to-School Drive, Gala & Silent Auction Fundraiser, Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Toy & Stocking Giveaway and other events. One-time, Occasional 55+, Adults Individuals, Groups (2-10) Event support On-site Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Mentoring Encourage and guide our New Life Program participants as they make their courageous journey back into becoming productive members of society. Weekly 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor Formal Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Lydia House Serve at our women and children’s shelter through after school programs, Bible studies, dinner service and more. Occasional, Weekly 55+, Adults, Child with Adult Individuals, Groups (2-10), Families Indoor Formal Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Legal Aid Use your knowledge of the law in one of our legal aid clinics, advising Mission clients on matters such as traffic tickets, record expungement, and child support. Occasional, Weekly 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor Formal, Skilled Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Thrift Store Assist customers, sort donations and help tidy the store. We especially need volunteers with an in-depth knowledge of online sales and product/inventory pricing. Occasional, Weekly 55+, Adults, Child with Adult Individuals Indoor Formal Weekdays, Weekends Food Service Pitch in to assist our kitchen staff as they set up, serve and clean up after our breakfast, lunch, or dinner meals. About us	Since 1972, Long Beach Rescue Mission has opened its doors to thousands of men, women and children. The Mission provides food, clothing, shelter and spiritual guidance to the homeless and less fortunate people of the community.
