Our mission	Corgi breed specific registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization that specializes in special needs corgis from California’s high kill shelters. We put great emphasis on rehabilitating our dogs medically, managing their behaviors through relationship-based training, and getting to know their needs and quirks in order to find them the right home.

Being a foster parent can be one of the most rewarding experiences as you provide safety and structure to a dog in need, acting as the stepping stone to their furever home. If you are ready, open your heart and home to a low-rider in need, and be the change you wish to see! We need your help! Occasional, Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Event support, Indoor Skilled Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Event Assistance Helping set up and break down at events such as fundraisers and future adoption events. Assist with transportation of items for these events. Occasional 55+, Adults Individuals, Groups (2-10) Event support None, On-site Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Transportation Transport dogs to-and-from vet appointments if a foster parent is unavailable, transport to rescue groups, or foster homes and permanent homes. Occasional, Weekly, Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor, Outdoor None, On-site Weekdays, Weekends Dog Training A large number of the dogs we receive have little to no training. We believe that basic training is an important part of the trust-building process and helps set the expectations and boundaries that benefit their future forever home. Weekly 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor, Outdoor Formal, Skilled Weekdays, Weekends Dog Walking Walking individual dogs or small groups around the QBSDR Ranch neighborhood. Will require training by Susan or qualified QBSDR Veteran Volunteer. Weekly 55+, Adults Individuals Outdoor Formal Weekdays, Weekends Contractors/Handyman(persons) As we expand, we need to build new kennels, update parts of the ranch to be more doggo friendly, and in general just need help with the honey-do list that is always growing. Occasional, Weekly, Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Physical, Indoor, Outdoor Skilled Weekdays, Weekends Photography We are always in need of great photos of our doggos for marketing materials, dog bios, and social media posts. If you are a pet photographer willing to donate some time to our puppers, let us know! Occasional, Weekly, Monthly Teens, 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor, Outdoor Skilled Weekdays, Weekends Home Checks Visit a home and go through our checklist, ensuring the environment is safe and secure for a dog to reside in. Occasional, Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor Formal Weekdays, Weekends Grant Research There are a ton of animal welfare grants available to rescues, but we need folks that are willing to do the research and help us through the application processes. Weekly, Monthly Teens, 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor On-site, Formal Weekdays, Weekends Temporary Foster A foster home that is on stand-by, should a permanent foster need to leave town for vacation or an emergency. (Foster application and training required) Occasional 55+, Adults, Child with Adult Individuals, Families Indoor, Outdoor Formal Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Video Production Training videos are one of the top requests we receive, but we need experienced individuals to help make these requests a reality for our supporters. Occasional, Monthly Teens, 55+, Adults Individuals, Groups (2-10) Indoor, Outdoor Skilled Weekdays, Weekends Grooming Bathing, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, teeth brushing. Will require training by Susan or qualified QBSDR Veteran Volunteer. Weekly, Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor Formal, Skilled Weekdays, Weekends Groundskeeping General upkeep of the outside areas at the QBSDR Ranch. May include weeding, pruning, picking up poop, removing dangerous debris, building/mending fences, sanitizing K9 grass areas, trash removal. About us	Queen’s Best Stumpy Dog Rescue’s mission is to rescue special needs corgis from California’s high kill shelters or from persons who need to re-home their dog due to a desperate situation. Each dog is as unique as each human. QBSDR’s goal is to match families with dogs that best suit each other’s needs and lifestyles. We place great emphasis on medical care and rehabilitating our dogs through socialization and leadership training until their “furever” home is found. All contributions are put towards the needs of our dogs.
