About us Founded in 1977, the Good Shepherd Shelter was the first domestic violence shelter in the City of Los Angeles. It is the only domestic violence shelter in Los Angeles that provides on-site K-5 education for children, an adult Learning Center for the mothers, legal assistance, mental health therapy, medical screenings, individual apartment units for each family and reliable aftercare upon leaving the shelter.
