Our mission is to serve in these four areas of life. Making our world better starts with each individual becoming responsible for the needs of others. For us, this is achieved through education and benevolence towards our fellow mankind.

Volunteer

We have an amazing team of volunteers! They drive vans to pick up food donations from Trader Joe’s, spend time with at-risk kids, build urban farms, demonstrate the construction of indigenous habitats and the list goes on…

About us

HALO Effect gets its name from Housing, Agriculture, Longevity and Openhands. HALO Effect is a non-profit organization that is rooted in generosity and environmental sustainability. We seek to teach others how to live, build and grow organically all while helping the less fortunate among us. We started in 2012 with a food pantry (then known as Manna Pantry) sponsored by Trader Joe’s. We combined this with our love for sustainable housing & urban gardens, furniture up-cycling and a burning desire to help people in need. We believe change will only come through education. HALO is committed to educating communities in sustainable building, recycling, urban farming and the gift of generosity.
