Our mission	To provide leadership and resources to address the destructive consequences of homelessness in Mar Vista so that the community is protected, remains safe and our homeless people receive compassionate, effective services with access to permanent supportive housing.

Opportunities	Feet on the Street Assist with locating and engaging our unhoused persons and connecting them to appropriate services and housing. Provide/distribute hygiene kits, clothing, supplies, and resource brochures. Provide support to the Mar Vista residents and businesses in their encounters with the homeless. Participate in projects to clean up homeless encampments. Weekly, Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Physical, Outdoor On-site Weekdays, Weekends Funding and Donations Write grants and request funding from various sources. Engage our community in fundraising efforts. Generate funding for 3-years of provider services, outreach teams, street cleaning programs, and initial move-in expenses. Weekly, Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Office work, Event support, Indoor Skilled Weekdays, Weekends Digital Media/Public Relations Maintain the website with current information including bi-monthly task force meeting minutes. Oversee social media posts on various platforms tied to the website. Create press releases, articles, and media productions to inform the community on the progress of housing Mar Vista’s homeless and increasing community safety. Weekly, Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Virtual, Indoor None, Skilled Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Community Relations Attend community events and connect with organization. Develop relationships with city and county agencies (mental health, fire department, law enforcement). Work with L.A. city council offices and city attorneys to ensure mission alignment. Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor Skilled Weekdays, Weekends Community Outreach Recruit new members. Educate task force members and the community at large on the homelessness crisis, issues, solutions, etc. Provide data that shows accountability and transparency in the ongoing operation of HOUSINGMV. About us	HOUSINGMV: Mar Vista Task Force on Homelessness was formed in 2021 as an independent group of community volunteers committed to compassionately addressing the serious issues associated with homelessness in Mar Vista, a neighborhood community on the Westside of Los Angeles, California. HOUSINGMV’s goal is to provide better living conditions to the unhoused while keeping our community safe and healthy. Lives improve when we take action.
