Our mission | Kitty Bungalow is a community cat organization and kitten socialization facility. We focus our attention on providing services for the most vulnerable of felines. Our cats and kittens come from the mean streets of Los Angeles, whether it be directly from TNR, pulling from LA Animal Services, or working with our remarkable rescue partners. |

Charm School Nurse Assistant (South LA)These volunteers assist to keep the cats/kittens in our care healthy! Under the supervision of our Director of Lifesaving, duties will include (but are not limited to) giving medications, performing physical exams, fluids, vaccinating, microchipping, and data entry. Age Requirement: Medical team volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Dress Code: We recommend scrubs (if you have them) or comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. We recommend closed-toe shoes and long pants. Time Commitment:

Steps to Becoming a Charm School Teacher:
School Bus Driver (South LA Transport)Our School Bus Driver will help us with field trips which may include but not limited to taking students (cats) to medical appointments and adoption events. Cat handling experience is preferred but not required! Sometimes, traveling to/from other locations for adoption events may be necessary. Age Requirement: Bus Drivers must be at least 21 years of age Dress Code: Please wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty but still look professional as you will be dealing with the public. We require a Kitty Bungalow shirt, closed-toe shoes and long pants. Time Commitment:

Steps to Becoming a Transport Volunteer:
Charm School Parent/Child (12+) team (South LA)This volunteer position assists with basic husbandry, feeding, and organizing. Teams also help us organize, clean, do laundry, and restock – all the tasks necessary to keep our Charm School location looking great! Age Requirement: Children must be 12+ accompanied by a parent. Dress Code: Please wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. We recommend closed-toe shoes and long pants. Time Commitment:

Charm School Teacher (South LA)This volunteer position assists with basic husbandry, feeding, and organizing. Age Requirement: We accept volunteers 18 years or older or students 12-17 years of age with an accompanying adult. Parent/child teams are required to stay together at all times. Steps to Becoming a Charm School Teacher:
On-Site Cat CareThis position is for the basic care of cats which includes feeding, cleaning, and socializing the cats on-site. There are opportunities at both Charm School in South LA and Charter School in West LA.Charm School: Located in South LA. There is a 2.5 hour commitment once a week and we ask that volunteers commit to a shift. Usually, volunteers work in groups of 2-3, which makes it a great for couples or friend groups looking to volunteer together! We have volunteers on-site from 9am-9pm (Mon-Thurs) and 9am-7pm (Fri-Sun). Charter School: Located in WLA at the NKLA center. Shifts are usually for individuals, unlike the groups at Charm School. AM shifts can start anywhere between 5am-9am and PM shifts can start anytime between 4pm-7pm. Flexible mid-day shifts are also available. Shifts are usually about 2 hours long and we ask for a weekly commitment. TNR VolunteerTNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) volunteers help us with the most important program we have. TNR volunteers assist with trapping, transport and returning cats back to their homes. TNR volunteers are required to assist at least 3 times per month for a minimum of 6 months. |

About us | Kitty Bungalow provides the community with access to free TNR services, which allows for thousands of cats to be fixed, receive vaccines and flea treatment, and get returned to the people who care for them. Kitty Bungalow intake hundreds of kittens each year into Charm School. Our dedicated family of onsite volunteers and foster parents care for our “students” and use force-free socialization techniques to take street cats from ‘hiss to home.’ |
