Executive and Skilled Volunteering

L.A. Works' Pro Bono and Skilled Volunteering Program is an exciting way to unite skilled professionals with local nonprofits to make good things happen in LA and beyond. We help organizations express their needs and wants as thoroughly defined and scoped projects, and connect them with volunteers who want to offer their professional skills.

Project Leader

Go beyond regular volunteering and become a project leader for a Signature Project. Signature Projects are long-term volunteer projects at non-profits that usually take place 1-4 times per month for a minimum of 6 months and activate anywhere from 5 - 200 volunteers.

MusicWorks Teaching Assistant

MusicWorks Teaching Assistants are responsible for coaching beginning, intermediate or advanced instrumental, vocal or songwriting pedagogy for any of our partners from the MusicWorks’ nonprofit network. He or she will ensure the highest quality personal and musical experience for our partner’s students; implement a curriculum set by the assigned institution and collaborate with other Teaching Artists to support each child holistically.

Covid-19 Testing Center Volunteers

Volunteers will be providing widespread COVID-19 testing to the citizens of Los Angeles so we can understand the extent of our challenge and identify clusters of infection to help prevent further spread. How you help L.A. Works makes volunteering easy, fun and meaningful. Since 1991, L.A. Works volunteers have contributed over 1 million hours transforming their neighborhoods and serving the needs of the Los Angeles community.
About us L.A. Works is a nonprofit volunteer action center that creates, manages and implements hands-on community service projects throughout the greater Los Angeles area. L.A. Works empowers Angelenos to address pressing social issues through volunteerism and community collaborations. Our projects cover a wide range of activities and issue areas including serving meals to the homeless, providing fun activities to disadvantaged youth, walking dogs, preserving national parks, cooking for kids, playing bingo with the elderly and shelving and packaging food to be donated.
