About us
We host a resource center for unhoused folks in West LA on the third Saturday of every month. We work hard to book as many resources and services that help alleviate homelessness and promote equality at our resource center as possible! At past resource centers we have had medical help, case worker support, showers, laundry, cal-fresh sign-ups, karaoke, art, & much more! As we grow our resource center, we plan to provide resources that promote self-love and healing. We want to build power with our neighbors by connecting them with organizations that uplift and fight for the rights of unhoused Angelenos. In the future, we hope to create spaces for skill shares and focus on building community.
☀️Thanks to all the volunteers, service providers & guests who joined us for the last Resource Center on Saturday! It was a warm, beautiful day & we were excited to welcome new service providers like @UCLASteinEye
📣 ANNOUNCEMENT: Pathways to PERMANENT HOUSING Review📣
🏘️ How effective are permanent housing efforts?
We’re starting an assessment of the efforts of Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) & other service providers to place unhoused Angelenos in permanent housing.
The next Resource Center is this Saturday! Our unhoused neighbors live disconnected from services & are constantly displaced by the City through sweeps. This is a chance to bring folks back together & build community.
Unhoused people are regularly misled, lied to, harassed, and traumatized in their interactions with city/county providers. Any initiative that rushes to move them inside without taking the time to build trust and figure out how to meet their needs is setting itself up to fail.
I will be dropping a full end of year recap on our @opencollect page soon, but until then... we diverted 15977 pounds of food from a landfill this year, and made 934 meals since October :)
