Ways to help

Pro Bono Opportunities

Lawyers, post-graduate legal fellows, and other volunteer professionals (including retirees) work with us in a variety of ways. Here are some examples: mentoring, training, and consulting (within the legal and administrative sides of our program); lawyers taking on cases for either limited or full scope representation; assisting with intake and referral, as well as providing advice and counsel (non-lawyers can do this under staff attorney supervision); helping with oral interpretation and document translation; community legal education and outreach; litigation support; relationship building and program development.

College and High School Students

College and high school students can fulfill community service hours as well as develop critical skills and habits that will help prepare them for educational and career growth. In the past, students have helped our legal assistants to manage their administrative workflow, worked in our development department to update our databases, and helped us beautify our property.

Law Students

Law students help us to conduct client interviews, provide counsel and advice under attorney supervision, draft court pleadings, conduct legal research and writing, and assist attorneys to prepare for hearings and trials. Law students volunteer with us to fulfill pro bono hours or to gain hands on experience. We also welcome law students interested in interning or externing during the school year for credit.

Volunteer Office Assistant

LevittQuinn is currently seeking volunteers to provide office support in our Westlake/Echo Park office. Office volunteers will help the legal assistants with administrative support including data entry and filing projects, copying, scanning, and general office upkeep. We seek a minimum volunteer commitment of eight hours per week for a minimum of three months, although we prefer longer term commitments.

How you help Forty years ago, volunteers with a passion for and commitment to public service founded LevittQuinn Family Law Center. Today our organization has grown to include a professional staff of experts in a variety of family law practice areas. Volunteers are still an important part of our mission to ensure stability for children and their families in the face of legal difficulties.
About us LevittQuinn’s attorneys practice in key areas of family law including adoption, child support or spouse support, custody, visitation, domestic violence, grandparent visitation, guardianship, marital dissolution and paternity. Each year we receive thousands of inquires, give responsive services to more than 1,900 families, and impact the lives of over 2,800 children. Our attorneys make hundreds of court appearances on behalf of poor and modest means families throughout the Los Angeles County Superior Court system, the largest trial court in the nation. We prioritize cases where a critical right is at risk.
