Route VolunteerA Route Volunteer adopts a route consistently one day a week (Monday , Wednesday, Thursday & Friday from 10:45 am-2:00pm). Once signed up, you will be scheduled for every “Monday” (for example). Volunteers and clients love this because you would get to deliver to the same clients each week and getting to know each other is very rewarding. Delivery time can take approximately 1 – 2 hours and each route has an average of 8-10 clients.Your Team Can Make a DIFFERENCE!Join Google, Watt Companies, IMDB/Amazon, Wells Fargo Bank, Oracle, Red Bull, Capital One and Uber in Delivering More Than a Meal to your homebound neighbors! Organizations can deliver once a week, month, quarter, or whatever suits your needs. Google has 14 employees that rotate every Thursday to deliver to our clients. Watt Companies has an annual Day of Service. Meals on Wheels West will help create a schedule that works best for your team! Volunteers deliver a hot, nutritious lunch and a light dinner Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.Floater VolunteerA Floater Volunteer adopts a route one day a week (but not a specific route). The day chosen will be the same each week. You will be assigned whichever route opens up that day – and can specify if you have a preference for which area (Santa Monica, Venice, etc.). Volunteers love this because of the variety and getting to see different members of the community.Standby VolunteerA Standby Volunteer is on call for a specific day of the week and has zero commitment. You will be emailed/texted/called the day before or morning of to see if you happen to be available to come in to cover a route. Volunteers whose schedules are being fine-tuned love this opportunity because it has a lot of flexibility. |
