Our mission	Mending Kids provides free life-saving surgical care to sick children worldwide by deploying volunteer medical teams and educating communities to become medically self-sustaining.

Opportunities	Mission Volunteers We look for medical volunteers (with 5+ years of pediatric experience) and non-medical volunteers with a passion for helping children. We do allow non-medical volunteer under 18 years of age, but you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. One-time, Occasional Teens, 55+, Adults, Child with Adult Individuals, Groups (2-10), Families Indoor, Outdoor On-site, Formal, Skilled Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Local Volunteer This opportunity is for volunteers in the Greater Los Angeles, CA area interested in participating in voluntary service at our MK office, events, outreach projects or internships in one of our programs. Occasional, Weekly, Monthly Teens, 55+, Adults Individuals, Groups (2-10) Office work, Event support, Indoor, Outdoor On-site, Formal Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Become a Host Family Host Families of Mending Kids are special people who provide a loving home for children who travel to the United States for surgery. While the responsibility is great, so are the rewards of seeing a child’s life transformed. If you are interested in hosting a child during their stay in the U.S. for surgery, please submit the application on website. About us	For more than a decade, Mending Kids has delivered life-saving surgical care to children in developing countries around the world. In 2014, we launched our first US-based surgical mission. Serving children in Southern California, Hometown Mission: Los Angeles provided a chance at a better life for kids whose conditions have been deemed “non life-threatening” or “elective” by insurance providers. We know that for a young boy with a large hairy nevus on his face, or a little girl in need of cleft-nose reconstruction, who may feel self-conscious or experience bullying as a result of their physical appearance, surgery can be truly life changing.
