Ways to help |
Side WalkerWalk beside the hip of the rider and assist in the lesson. This may involve verbal repetition of the instructor's direction, and physical assistance. Side walkers are also trained how to perform an emergency dismount if the rider has problems.Event VolunteerPlan and help at our annual Country Carnival, or local horse shows.Horse GroomerClean and groom horses, put tack on horses (saddle, bridle, etc) and remove tack.Social Media AssistantTake pictures for our Facebook and Instagram pages.Office AssistantFile and/or assist with office work.Horse LeaderYou'll be in charge of guiding the horse around the ring. In the case of adept riders, you walks beside the head of the horse as a safety precaution, but allow the rider to perform all the steering of the horse. |

How you help | We are a volunteer organization, which means we receive no government funding and rely solely on grant, fundraising events, individual and corporate donations, and minimal lesson fees to meet our operating costs. |

About us | We believe in the inherent worth and dignity of all people and wish to share the special gift of horsemanship with those with special needs. Ride to Fly is a PATH International (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) member operating center that has been serving the South Bay area since 1994. |
