Volunteer Ambassador

Self Help Graphics & Art is looking for volunteers who can become year-round ambassadors of our mission and work. This core group of volunteers will be trained to assist staff at all levels and is perfect for undergraduate or graduate students interested in learning more about the nonprofit arts field, art education, program management, and community building.

Workshop/Event Volunteer

These volunteers help us put on workshops and events by assisting artists during workshops, being an ambassador to the public during events, checking in guests for exhibition openings, and helping to setup and break down events and programs. Volunteers must be 15 years or older or accompanied by a guardian if younger.

How you help SHG is able to reach over 6,750 youth, host over 125 individual workshops, and hold over 20 exhibitions featuring the work of more than 100 artists. To accomplish this we rely on the assistance of volunteers who share our passion.
About us Self Help Graphics & Art fosters the creation and advancement of new art works by Chicana/o and Latinx artists through experimental and innovative printmaking techniques and other visual art forms. We are an organization rooted in community; and since 1973, have been at the intersection of arts and social justice, providing a home that fosters the creativity and development of local artists. We establish international collaborations and partnerships nation-wide and create world-wide cultural exchanges.
