Opportunities |
Teach your hobby to a child with a serious illness- online or inpersonWe’re using online tools to continue to offer free arts and athletics programming to families impacted by chronic illness and to give our community new opportunities to make a difference. CoachArt matches kids impacted by chronic illness with volunteers like YOU who can teach them arts and athletics skills. Some of those activities include:
We have a new online system where you can complete your training and find the student to work with all from your home and faster than ever before. Only a 4 hour commitment to start. CoachArt is a fun and meaningful way to give back by doing something you love 🙂 Volunteer CoachVolunteers are matched with an inspiring, extraordinary young person – or group of young people – impacted by chronic illness. Volunteers teach students about sports, arts, or other activities or skills. Volunteers should possess enough knowledge to teach an eight-week session of beginner-level lessons and feel confident enough to provide an activity without support. That’s easier than you might think — we have lesson plans, activity ideas, templates and other resources you can use. Program time commitment is one hour a week. Junior VolunteerWe’re seeking junior volunteers to work with our students and help support our programs. Junior Volunteers help coaches share athletic or artistic skills and hobbies with children with a chronic illness. The commitment is at least 2 hours a month. Junior Volunteers are between 14-17 years old. Arts CoachWe can match you with an inspiring, extraordinary young person — or group of young people — impacted by chronic illness. CoachArt students want to learn about cooking, guitar, painting, piano, singing and more… |

How you help | Give your time and change the world for a child with chronic illness. Who knows? They may change yours. |

About us | Children living with chronic illness may feel isolated because of their condition. Frequent hospital visits and deficient immune systems often cause them to miss time in school and recreational activities. Families, overwhelmed by the cost and demands of ongoing medical care, often lack the resources to seek out or afford extracurricular activities. Healthy siblings are affected too when family resources are focused on a chronically ill child. CoachArt supports these families by offering free recreational lessons that bring a sense of normalcy back into their lives. Our vision is that one day every family impacted by chronic illness will be connected to a community of support and an opportunity to learn and grow together. |
