The Volunteer Center South Bay- Harbor- Long Beach
The Corporate Volunteer Council (CVC) is a professional association of local businesses dedicated to making a difference in the community through the development and promotion of employee volunteerism and community involvement, in close partnership with local nonprofit agencies. The CVC provides volunteer leadership by responding to the changing needs of the local community, as well as serving as a forum for training, networking and the exchange of ideas and information on corporate philanthropy and employee volunteerism.

Food For Kids
Our donation-driven food pantry provides bags of non-perishable food and nutrition handouts* to select elementary schools in Carson, Compton, Long Beach, San Pedro, Torrance and Wilmington every week. Volunteers assemble and deliver bags of food filled with items to make 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 dinners to the local schools on Fridays.

The Affinity Group
The Affinity Group was founded in 2005 as a support group for the Volunteer Center. Members of the Affinity Group work together to support Operation Teddy Bear and other Volunteer Center programs through fundraising events and projects, making a difference in the lives, education and futures of underserved children and their families. Affinity Group members pay annual dues and meet six times a year for regular/social meetings.
Pantry Partners is an all-volunteer group that depends on the time and talents of people like you to coordinate it. Volunteers assist with: Partner Renewal Emails, New Partner Recruitment, Party Planning, Organizing Food Drives, and Securing Sponsors.

Recognizing the value of empathy and service to others, the Volunteer Center has been "at the heart of helping" for more than 50 years, referring thousands of volunteers to both traditional and court-referred service opportunities. We learn the our most urgent needs by regularly listening to the members of our community. When we discover that a critical community need is going unmet, we lead the way by assembling a team of caring, talented volunteers to create a signature program. We love that moment when community members join together and give their precious time to a worthy cause, and our partnerships within the community allow us to have an even further reach. Whether its families, teens, seniors, professionals or court-referred volunteers, we serve EVERY member of our community.
