Help Restore Dignity to Those in Need

Volunteers will help with greeting our clients and helping distribute hygiene and clothing items. This is an outdoor rain or shine program and you should be comfortable working in all weather conditions. You must be prepared to deal with challenging circumstances that can include the mental health and personal hygiene of our clients. The hours of service are from 8:30am-12pm on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month in Echo Park and the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month in Hollywood.

How you help Volunteers are an integral part of our organization. We have in-person volunteer opportunities at our warehouse and at our direct service sites. At our warehouse in Gardena volunteers help organize and sort clothes and shoes and make hygiene kits. Our direct service sites are in Echo Park and Hollywood. At these locations volunteers interact with the people we serve and help provide them with clothing, shoes and hygiene essentials. We also have remote volunteer opportunities where you can create laundry kits, hygiene kits, organize a clothing and shoe drive and/or a hygiene drive.
About us Project Ropa, a Los Angeles-based non-profit and certified social enterprise, is paving the way towards a more compassionate, sustainable world. At its core, Project Ropa is a mobile clothing closet delivering premium, hand-selected apparel and shoes to people in need. We work with various partners, including clothing manufacturers, retailers, and other non-profits, to give a second life to items originally destined for landfills. In doing so, Project Ropa empowers lives, providing individuals with hygiene essentials and high-quality clothing and shoes that can open doors to future opportunities. Since our inception, Project Ropa has distributed over a million items of clothing and thousands of personal hygiene essentials. Project Ropa's approach to serving our guests is deeply rooted in the concept of the intrinsic value and unlimited potential of their lives. Instead of seeing people as problems to be solved, Project Ropa views each individual as a person with unique aspirations and contributions. Many of the individuals served by Project Ropa are working to secure employment, improve their health, and maintain stable housing. Project Ropa is there to support them at every step of their journey. Each guest is welcomed to select items from our mobile clothing closet and offered one-to-one service. Project Ropa's team members work diligently to help guests find clothing they'll be proud to wear – clean, stylish, and hand-picked. This level of personalized care may require time and attention, but it is where the real impact happens. It's care that restores hope, and the guests deeply appreciate it.
