Mentoring Children of Loved One’s Impacted by Cancer

At Walk With Sally, we provide hope to children ages 7-17 who are experiencing the trauma of a loved one’s cancer journey. We do this by matching a child with an adult mentor (volunteer) that shares the common bond of living with or losing a loved one to cancer. They spend about 6 hours every month together for a minimum of one year. We also provide free community events and workshops such as surfing and art therapy to not only give our mentees a chance to just be a kid, but provide them with a community that understands exactly what they are going through. We also have a large number of partners within the community that we can connect our families with. If they need additional resources such as therapy, financial assistance or even just tutoring, we are able to provide that to them.
