About this event
In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s example of service to community, the Southbay Equity Project (SEP) community is organizing a virtual/contactless event to serve Lawndale Elementary School District students, many who have been affected by the COVID pandemic, who are experiencing housing challenges and difficulties.
Maria Ruelas, LESD’s District Social Worker has shared, “A lot of our families have lost their jobs, homes, have become ill, and are suffering from mental health concerns and more. These donations will be a blessing to many families that have been and continue to be impacted by this devastating pandemic.”
Please support our efforts with one or all of the following options:
-
Grocery Store Gift Card Donations (physical cards). “Target gift cards are great because families are able to purchase essential items like toilet paper, detergent, sanitary items, diapers, hygiene supplies, and/or groceries.”
-
Specific COVID and care supplies:
Lysol spray, disinfecting wipes, and hand sanitizer are necessary. Other essential items that have been requested include Items like tea, honey, Pedialyte, Gatorade, cough syrup, thermometers, and pulse oximeters. -
Cash donations to be used by Lawndale District Social Worker designees to supplement school resources benefitting their students.
Please complete your donation by Monday January 18th, 11:59pm. Additional instructions and physical drop-off locations will be provided upon RSVP.
