Are you an experienced, established individual working in the screen industries, looking to give back to the next generation of women in the field? You could be a great fit to support our professional development programs as a mentor, juror, reader, guest speaker, or other expert volunteer!

The following volunteer roles are hands on experiences working directly with emerging Women In Film Members in a tangible mentoring capacity. The time commitment varies and can usually be worked around the Expert Volunteer’s availability.

The following volunteer opportunities read/screen and deliberate on the submissions received for our Programs. Much of this experience is remote but often includes at least one element of in-person or phone meetings. These roles are incredibly important to the programs as they help select the final participants/fellows/grantees chosen for each program.

Self Help Graphics & Art is looking for volunteers who can become year-round ambassadors of our mission and work. This core group of volunteers will be trained to assist staff at all levels and is perfect for undergraduate or graduate students interested in learning more about the nonprofit arts field, art education, program management, and…

These volunteers help us put on workshops and events by assisting artists during workshops, being an ambassador to the public during events, checking in guests for exhibition openings, and helping to setup and break down events and programs. Volunteers must be 15 years or older or accompanied by a guardian if younger.

Piece by Piece participates in various events throughout the city, popping up artwork and making sales. Tasks involve sales support including wrapping artwork, processing sales via Square, and set-up/take down of booth space.

We are looking for individuals with computer skills who would be interested in supporting our admin. Tasks include: mailing list entry and updates, image sorting, photography, online sales support, and data entry. Some of these tasks can be done remotely and will greatly help our program.

We have a lot of materials that need cleaning, sorting, cutting. We have many participants in our program and need support in sorting the unfinished artwork into an organized system. Our instructors need support in workshops on occasion.

Our Education and Engagement Program hosts groups of youth and adults to learn about our program and engage in an art making activity. Tasks involve welcoming, directing groups, and supporting our artists as they guide the art-making activity.

We also welcome professional musicians to present musical workshops that fit in with our curriculum.
