The dream of a high-caliber therapy and research center for the many families struggling to find services for their children with developmental and medical concerns was realized in 1996 when Pediatric Therapy Network (PTN) was born. Since then, PTN has become a world-renowned, multi-faceted treatment facility. Occupying more than 40,000 square feet of therapeutic space in five locations in Torrance, Inglewood and Long Beach, PTN annually delivers more than 150,000 hours of innovative programs and services to 5,500 children and their families. The need for PTN’s services continues to grow. Today, with 1 in 4 children facing developmental, behavioral, and social delays, the ability to provide these crucial services is at the heart of PTN’s mission. Primarily known for the services it provides, PTN is also an internationally recognized research and training center that acknowledges the importance of high caliber research and participates in university-based studies to enhance the quality and effectiveness of service for our children. Through a unique partnership with the University of Southern California, PTN has trained physical, occupational, and speech-language therapists from 38 countries on sensory integration. Every year, PTN provides fieldwork opportunities for graduate students from 60 colleges and mentors 1,000 high school and college volunteers interested in pediatric therapy. As we educate the next generation of therapists, we ensure children locally and globally will receive the high-quality care they need for years to come.
